Welcome to Fountation - a showcase of my fountains. - Browse through the gallery using your mouse wheel or the slider bar.
Click on the image for more detailed descriptions and additional photos. Also look below for videos and links to my other photo galleries. Home For Sale (2008) - This sign was inspired by "Home Sweet Home" pillows and wall hangings many of us remember from our childhoods.
Hand-cross-stitched complete with an apple pie, a red heart and other happy suburban icons complete the image. However Instead of sweet message,
this one reads HOME FOR SALE/ FORECLOSURE and hangs from a "hangman's" frame. This is an unsettling
reminder about loss, and loss of innocence during these tough times. (approx 2m tall). $1100. Colored Disk Tree Fountain II (2008) - Water cascades down a series
of 4 spires over flat circular steel plates. Painted steel and water. (approx 1m tall)

"Death of Disco" Ball Fountain (2008) - Water comes out of the top of a disco ball
made up of broken shards of mirror. mirror, steel, plastic, epoxy, water (1m ball + 2m pole)

Red Hands Fountain (2008) - Water silently and gently pours from one hand
to the other and into the basin. Glazed ceramic, steel, water. (Less than 1m tall)

Drinking Fountain (2008) - 5 spigots provide the flow of water from the top of through
a series of channels and steps into the elementary school drinking fountain below.
Painted steel, water spouts, wall mounted fountain, water. (2m high x 1.2m wide)

Stacked Cubes Fountain (2008) - Three unfinished steel cubes are stacked on top of each other. Water marks and rust
will appear over time, adding interesting and unpredictable characteristics to the symmetrical cubes. Steel, and water (1m tall)

Powercube (2008) - Live electrical outlets for use by the viewers stress the importance of "recharging" in our lives, making this
an interactive, entertaining as well as functional art piece. Steel, wood, electrical outlets, plastic (approx 1m square on 2m floor base)

Red Fountain - Computer image. Designed to appear flowing even without water, this concept piece
is a bright, shiny red contrast to the clear, flowing water it contains. Fiberglass, steel, water. (approx 2.5m when fabricated)

Water Pistol Tower - Computer image. Colorful toy pistols brighten up the clear cylinder of water
that provides the water flow. It is a juxtaposition of a "toy" and the seriousness of "gunplay".
Plexiglas, plastic toys, flexible tubing, metal, water. (approx 2m when fabricated)

Colored Disk Tree Fountain I (2008) - Water cascades over flat circular steel red and orange disks. Painted steel and water (approx 1m tall)

Rusty Towers Fountain (2007) - Water from the top spire overflows into the symmetrical spires on either side.
Natural, unfinished steel gives it a "rust"-ic look. Steel and water. (approx 1.5m tall)

Flexible Tube Fountain (2006) Stainless steel spine is concealed within a clear flex tube.
Water pours from the center of the flexible tube, and cascades down the inside walls of the clear tube to the bottom.
The entire fountain is flexible, and because the water is self contained, it can be placed in many spaces.
There is high water flow, but no splash or sound. Stainless steel flex tube, clear tube, water. (3m high) NYC Smokes! (2008) - NYC Steam pipe re-branded as a cigarette Plastic, and adhesive vinyl. (approx 2m tall)

I-Beam Fountain (2008) - Water descending from either side of this i-beam fountain provides
both a soothing stream effect on one side, and a crashing waterfall effect on the other. Steel and water.
(1m tall maquette superimposed in a computer image to represent the final piece which will be approximately 3m tall)

Beam Fountain 2 (under construction) - Water will descend from the top of this I-beam fountain providing a balance between the hard raw steel and the soft flowing water. Steel and water. (will be approximately 3m tall)

Double Basin S-Shaped Fountain (concept piece) - A single wall of s-shaped steel will have large circular cut-outs which will become the basins for this symmetrical fountain. While this early computer rendering shows the piece on a pedestal base, I have now determined that the piece would be more interesting if the fountain were placed at ground level. Finish will either be raw steel or mirror polish. (Approximately 3m tall).

Stairs Fountain (2008) - A drinking fountain mounted on its side makes for an interesting
sculptural effect as the water that comes from the spigot on the fountain on top, "walks" down
the rows of slate steps to the bottom. Steel, slate water. (1.5m tall)
